Once upon a time, long, long ago, Belusville, the town in which Yesteryear takes place, was a bustling hub of traders and merchants. Children ran through the winding streets. Gypsies tricked tourists and pickpockets roamed the squares. Once, every year, the people celebrate Theodore Belus, the founder of Belusville. Every year the streets are filled will tricks, rides, performances, and small markets selling all sorts of trinkets. Belusville only continued to keep growing.

Then one year, it stopped. On the Founding Day for Belusville, there was no movement. No tourists arrived. No one set up market stalls. There were no rides, no performances. All there was were a few homeless beggars who huddled close to the walls as if trying to escape the deafening silence. The Great Depression had begun.

Several years went by. Belusville and its amazing celebration were forgotten. The city fell into a state of darkness, losing nearly half its population within five years. The town began to live again afterwards - it did not thrive, no tourists came - but people were making money again, they could make themselves a living.

Belusville is a quiet place now. Gypsies and pickpockets have left for larger towns. A few beggars can still be found on the streets. Gangs lurk in alleys. It has become custom for people to carry around some sort of protection against these people. The children have grown and their children are only touching the stages of teenagerhood. Yet within the folds of Belusville's lost stones, something has begun to occur...

No one knows what it is. Something more dangerous than gangs? People begin to die. Others suddenly strike amazing good fortune. And something is happening to the teenagers, the children who still laugh and do not remember the days of glory.

What is this new power? Has it brought destruction, or restoration? Only time will tell.
